Homeless Initiative’s Gap Funding

$20 million towards the development of a grant program that can be offered to third parties to support homeless housing projects.
$20 million in Discretionary General Funding is included in the 2023-24 budget towards this initiative.

Community Development and Housing

Permanent Local Housing Allocation

$5.9 million: for housing related projects and programs that assist in addressing the unmet housing needs of local communities.

2^nd District Impact:

The Department will be seeking feedback and direction from the Board of Supervisors on any Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) and proposed projects/programs prior to obligating funds.

Housing and Disability Advocacy Program

$1.9 Million: The department is planning for additional funding to expand services to chronically homeless populations to include transportation, food, and treatment services.
